Chloe Spring 2011

Hey guys!
I just wanted to share some pictures from Chloe's lovely Spring 2011 runway show. I think it is undoubtedly one of the best shows of the season!

I love the simplicity and high-quality looking-ness of this dress. This is something I would choose to wear!
SWOON. Love. Perfection. Where can I get this outfit?!
Beautiful. I love the pristine white and bow on this dress.
I love the simple lines and super black of this ensemble. Chic!
I think this is a very interesting concept. Something I would definitely love to wear!
Mmm hmm hmm. Love. Simplicity at its finest! I feel like sometimes simple things have the best impact.
Kasia's blonde hair looks super with this streamlined black dress.
(Almost) perfect. I love the sheer tulle looking skirt. The fitted top is a perfect accompaniment!

Since Hannah MacGibbon stepped in as head designer for the house of Chloe, it seems like she does no wrong. A match made in fashion heaven? I would say!

Do you think Teen Vogue would approve of these coat selections?

I created this magazine page for a Fashion News Assignment for my Dynamics of Fashion Course at school. The magazine we were doing was Teen Vogue. Do you think they would approve?!

Collected Inspiration

Dearest TeenVogue, you can do no wrong. Look at how beautiful the hair is, in this picture. I love the denim jumpsuit, and the blanket is rustic and a super cool idea. The tweed underneath of this navy cardigan looks beautiful together.
Audrey Hepburn is one of my life and style icons.

Crushing on...

Right now I am loving this Miu Miu puff shoulder wool blend jacket. For me, this item would be a wardrobe staple for years to come. It would nice to pair it with a grey silk, cashmere, or merino sweater underneath or with a crisp whit shirt and pair of wool pants. Lalala.

My Teen Vogue visit...

So... as you all know... Teen Vogue's Beauty and Health Editor Eva Chen granted me the amazing opportunity to visit the Teen Vogue corporate headquarters at 4 Times Square in NYC. Asking for this opportunity and not taking would seem silly, so I quickly got on planning my first bite out of the Big Apple (which I love, and plan to move to some day!).

My visit to Teen Vogue took place on Thursday, July 8, 2010 at approximately 3:30 (if you want specifics).

Taking a flight from the Buffalo International Airport to the John F. Kennedy Airport, landing in the City at 12, we (I took my first trip to New York City with my Mom, my Mom's friend Marcey, and Marcey's daughter Holly. We are all friends.) did not make it to Manhattan (in my New York post, I mentioned we stayed at the BEAUTIFUL Renaissance New York Hotel 57) until 1:00. By the time we checked into our hotel, unpacked all of our clothing, grabbed lunch, and got ready, we were finally ready for our Teen Vogue visit!

1 sweltering cab ride, 2 Coach shoes, and 5 hair fixes later, we arrived at 4 Times Square. Walking in the black lacquered building (where Anna Wintour goes to work every day, no less), we grab a visitor name tag, and proceed to ride up the floor 4-9 elevators. Holly and I accidentally get off on the wrong floor (where Bon Appetit magazine is located), but soon found our way to the 9th floor.

AND WHAT A SIGHT THAT WAS!

After a little navigation to find the telephone, we dialled Eva's extension, and she came out. Eva is super cute, and so nice. When we visited the Teen Vogue offices Eva was wearing look #2 off of super fashion designer Thakoon Panichgul's Spring 2010 runway - a gorgeous seemingly crinkled silk chiffon-y type material of various different floral-y patterns, a single, pretty, bangle with one stone-y jewel. On her feet were leopard print-y Azzedine Alaia shoes, no less. Her outfit was, in a word, BEAUTIFUL.

Proceeding a polite welcome to the magazine's stunning head quarters, Eva invited my friend Holly and I into her office for a legitimate fashion meeting. In this meeting Eva first handed us the current issue of Teen Vogue, then discussed her career, the magazine's history, Amy Astley's career and history, as well as Eva's school path (including Johns Hopkins, Oxford University, and Columbia, no less).

After our meeting with Eva in her beautiful office filled to the BRIM with the hottest, newest cosmetics in the market - think Clinique, MAC nailpolishes, the Paul Smith kitty lipstick - Eva took us on a tour of the Editorial floor, fashion closet, and beauty closet (where she let us choose out some lovely goodies - I picked out mostly Bert's Bees body products... YUM.)

While at Teen Vogue, we got the chance to talk to Style Blogger Andrew Bevan, Entertainment Director Danielle Nussbaum (who is SO funny, and writes HILARIOUS/awesome tweets), Assistant to the Editor in chief Amy Astley, Ana Dragovic, super nice Online Editor/Director E.J. Samson. The thing that shocked me the most about meeting all of these SUPERnice people was that they dropped EVERYTHING and put their full attention on us as they spoke with us.

Teen Vogue facts:

Everyone at Teen Vogue was CRAZY nice.

The office is divided into separate sections according to their respective departments, like: Beauty section of office for Beauty Department, fashion closet, beauty closet.

There were pictures of Teen Vogue fashion shoots from many past issues all over the walls.

There were racks and racks (SWOON) of the seasons hottest fashion for the upcoming photo shoots in the hallways of the magazine's corporate headquarters, as well as the fashion closet.

Teen Vogue's Senior Accessories Editor (Shiona Turini) has quite possibly the best office I have ever seen in my life (her floor to ceiling is covered with the newest, hottest latest accessories, from brands like Marc by Marc Jacobs, to D&G, no less.

Thank you, Eva, and Teen Vogue, for this amazing opportunity. It was great to see Teen Vogue, and you all are wonderful.

Reflection of The Day

I thought I would start a new post in by blog called "Reflection of The Day". What I envision for this part of my blog is that I will post a little reflection. Just a little something I think, and am thinking about.
To start... this is my reflection of today:
"Hair straighteners are so 2005". What I mean by this is flat, drab, hair straightener induced hair is so over. Hair straigteners may work wonders for some people, but certainly not me. I have crazy everything hair. My hair is not really straight though... and I have seen so many people fight their natural hair type by straigtening it, and when they do, it looks awful. If your hair is naturally straight, that is lovely! I will not deny, lot of times I wish I had straight, even tame hair, but alas, I do not.
So go ahead, embrace your natural hair type today!

Introducing: Richelle Hunter!

Meet one of my genuinely favorite people, Richelle Hunter. Richelle is an extremely talented fashion designer. She has designed and sewed the garments that this post features. I love her light, feminine style which always enhances the female form, and I am sure you will to! Scroll to see some of her lovely creations!
Lovely lace.
This pink skirt is adorned with pearly buttons, upping the glamour almost instantly.
This skirt is a full lenth shot of the skirt above.
Feathers on a beautiful dress with a Singer dress form in the background.
The feathers at the bottom of this piece add a feminine, fun touch.

Beautiful stripe detailing on the fabric.
Full length shot of the dress crafted with the striped fabric.
Richelle smoothing out the hem of this dress for this photograph.
This is one of my favourite dresses from the collection. The bow adds a sweet, girly touch, and the pattern on the fabric makes the dress more interesting with enhanced visual appeal. Truth be told, I love them all. I wish I could own all of the Richelle Hunter pieces! The pleat detailing, ruffles, and two different kinds of stripes are lovely.Sweet.This is a full lenth shot of this dress. The detail photographs can be seen above.
How beautiful is the flower detailing on the right shoulder of this dress? The pleats and gathers go so nicely with the detail.
A closeup shot of this beautiful gown.

This dress is so glamourous!

If you see what you like, please contact Richelle to place an order via email on her blog (www.richellehunter.blogspot.com). You will be amazed with this girl's talent! Even after months of meeting Richelle, I am!

Blueberry Streusel Muffins

Hi loves,
How are you all doing?
I hope you are having a lovely summer, and are able to relax some. I am just finishing up an online course in order to attend college in the Fall, so for me it has been all go, go, go!

One thing that you may not know about me is that I love to bake. Eating sweet treats is definitely fun!

What I baked this morning where Blueberry Streusel Muffins, using
this scrumtious recipe from www.joyofbaking.com. This site offers a vast array of delicious recipes for baked goods including muffins, cakes, cookies, and much more!
Super fresh blueberries. The recipe said you could use fresh or frozen. I used a combination, and my muffins turned out phenomenally!
Lemon used for lemon rind in the recipe.
SCRUMPTIOUS!
I just love when things I bake turn out!
I may have eaten more than one ;)

When I took a bite out of the Big Apple:

Hello all!
I recently took a glorious trip to the Big Apple. It was AH-MAY-ZING! My trip to the City was from Thursday, July 8, to Saturday, July 10th. If you are planning a trip to NYC, I would totally recommend that you go for more than 48 hours, unless you have specific time limit in which you are forced to travel.

This is me at our hotel Renaissance Hotel 57 New York which was so glamourous, before we went to Teen Vogue.

And let me just tell you about my first ever magazine tour experience. I think this deserves a post in its own? I'd say. Stay tuned. I have a LOT to write about my visit!

Shirt/Banana Republic Spring/Summer 2010
Skirt/Vintage
Wristlet/ Coach (real, obviously, as I do not support counterfeit goods... Fakes Are Never In Fashion).

This is a picture of the most delicious piece of bread I have ever tasted in my life from the BLT Steak restaurant. It had a crispy shell and inside was the most fluffy bread baked with an egg and gruyere cheese. Talk about HEAVEN on Earth!
This is a picture I took of our hotel's interior decoration in the lounge area. It was so funky and cool. The hotel had a stylish boutique theme. Another shot of the lounge area in our hotel. I thought these lights were the coolest ever! They reminded me of pink jellyfish you usually see in cartoony movies.

This is a typical tourist (and I hope that someday I do not just to be a tourist in NYC) shot of me in Little Italy eating scrumptious mango gelati. Oh, the joys of mango gelato!
More hotel decor. Doesn't that pillow and the style of the chair just make you want to run over to this chair, jump, and sit on it?!
Cool little blown glass looking decorations in the lobby of the hotel.
This is a picture that I look from the hotel's rooftop. It had a surreal view. I like this picture because you can see the Empire State building and I like the angular and linear lines in this photograph, and the way it looks like you can walk off of this patio and be in any of the buildings in this photograph.
This sign was located JUST outside of our hotel. I like the way the silver reflects the buildings across the street.
This marble floor was located in the hallway in our hotel leading to the rooftop view of lovely NYC.
I just had to include one picture of a famous NYC yellow taxicab. I thought the Lola Marc Jacobs advertisement suited the fashion nature of this blog quite nicely (although I neither photographed or was involved with the production of the ad. All props go to Marc and his team of talented workers.
So long, NYC. I love and loved you. Hopefully I will see you again soon!

Beauty

This is my friend Sarah. I saw this picture of her on Facebook, and it left me no choice but to post it! I love this kind of picture. I love Sarah's hairstyle in this photo. I love her glasses in this picture. Finally, I love how her denim-looking blouse is paired with a lace shirt underneath to creat a semi-menswear but too girly to be menswear vibe.

Life is Coming Up Blue Roses

Here is gorgeous Courtney again! It is always so nice when I have the opportunity to photograph other people for this blog. Sometimes it gets boring if you only photograph yourself all of the time!
Here Courtney is wearing a beautiful blue summer dress with a rosette cincher from Paris, France. Lucky her!
The belt adds a great detail to an otherwords plain dress.
This pleated satchel is from Europe as well! I love the nude colour and glamourous folds combined with the buttery leather. Fashion bliss!
Courtney tops her look off with a pair of black ruffled sandals. These would be great to complete almost any outfit!
