Hearts All Over, Basically

I adore this Marchesa dress on actress Ali Larter (pictured above). The love the pink colours, the sweetheart neckline is divine, an the bottom half of this flirty frock is so simply beautiful. The ribbon detailing just accents this dress so well, no?
Don't you just love this dress?
I sure do!

A Funny Story

Here is your laugh of the day, fashionistas:
One time around the end of January I was at my Grandparent's humble abode, watching Fashion Television (with reporter Jeanne Becker, no less), when some company stopped by. The most EPIC Marc Jacobs Spring 2010 runway collection (the ruffles! the sparkles! the buns! the flats!) was playing on the television during that time and I was all like "OH MA GAWSH, OH MY GOSH, WHOAAAA", and people totally did not understand how amazing it was to see THE show on the SCREEN. Thus, they were not quiet, thus, I was saddened that I could not experience the Marc Jacobs show to its fullest extent.

Sold Out

This Stella McCartney Spring 2010 dress worn by Natalia Vodianova on the designer's Paris catwalk is sold out on www.net-a-porter.com. Just sayin'. I am impartial to the print of this dress but I think the style is wonderful, which is weird because on the website picture the print looks different.
If you remember though, I did post this collection and thought it was lovely.
The fact that people are willing to shell out $4595 for a dress like this must mean good things:
> Buyers are investing in fashion items.
> And if people have this much money for things like this... economy rut no longer?
Hurray for people purchasing beautiful, vegan, well-made designer clothing.

What are your thoughts on this matter?

Update

Why hello my fashion lovelies,
I have not seen YOU in awhile.
Um herm. School does that to your life.
I have been seemingly missing from the blogosphere. Hopefully that will change in the short term? (I am in March Break right now). I really need to flip some study notes pages more, but I just HAD to do a blog. I mean a 9 day absence from this sphere of existence?! GIVE ME A BREAK. I am so blog deprived. Hahaha! More look loves/show reviews/special updates coming up. Promise.

I am kinda sad that Paris fashion week is over... but the weather is getting nicer which is pretty much bliss. BLISS, people. The weather affects fashion in the way that you wear different clothing items when the weather is warmer versus when the weather is colder. Clearly.

Well... please let me know who you are, what you like in fashion right now, what your favourite Paris show was etc.

P.S. Who might into a bloggers summit? If there are enough people, I might just plan one :)

Love and blessings.

The 82nd Annual Academy Awards (Fashion Edition)

Dear fashionable lovelies,
Did you all watch the Oscars?! (and by that I mean the Red Carpet). I was SO excited to tune in last evening!. The Oscars are undoubtedley the biggest fashion night of the year. Swoon! Even people from the Academy acknowledge that the fashion celebrities don is the largest part of the night. I saw many dresses and looks that I loved, but I chose to edit them down to my favourites for you all.

Sandra Bullock's look and dress was my ABSOLUTE favourite of the entire evening. Sandra Bullock's hair is so shiny and lovely. The hair is simple which makes room for a SHOW STOPPING dress. Sandra's beauty look was so simple, yet so beautiful. I loved the pink shade of her lip colour. The actress' jewels came from Neil Lane. The diamond and metal drop earings compliment her beauty look and dress so much. The Neil Lane bracelet adds the perfect little amount of accessorizing to this beauteous dress. And THE (Marchesa, GASP! dress). The intricate flowery beading is so breathtaking, and that COLOUR! Sandra shines (pardon the pun!).
For me, Cameron Diaz's dress choices are either hit or miss. This Oscar de la Renta number is georgous. I love the shape, the flowiness, and the embellishments. Simply lovely!

There was not anyway I could leave this beauty out. At first I was not quite sure if I liked this dress, but it has captured my utmost attention since. Many reasons: it is from Marchesa (oh Karen and Georgina, how I love you!), and it is PINK. LOVE. The accordian folds that morph into large ruffles are so intricate and beautiful.
If it was my choice, all of the actresses would wear Marchesa to the Oscars.

The Oscar's Red Carpet will remain one of my favourite events to watch for years to come. I love this night of old school glamour and beauty. It is so special.
Love,
Jill
